Cancel Amazon Prime

  2. 2Click Manage Membership then End Membership
  3. 3If you have not used any Prime benefits this billing period, you may be eligible for a full refund
  4. 4Choose End Now or End on date — the latter keeps benefits until the period ends
Note: If you paid annually and have not used benefits, Amazon often offers a pro-rated refund. Ask chat support if the UI does not surface it.

Return an item without the runaround

  1. 1Go to Returns & Orders, select the order, then Return or Replace Items
  2. 2Choose your return reason — pick accurately, some reasons trigger free return shipping
  3. 3Select drop-off location (UPS, Kohl's, Whole Foods, Amazon Hub)
  4. 4Print or show the QR code at drop-off; no box required at most locations

  • Return credited to Amazon balance by default

    The default return option is often Amazon gift card balance rather than your original payment method. You must actively select original payment method.

  • Subscribe & Save pre-checked

    Many product pages default to Subscribe & Save instead of one-time purchase, enrolling you in automatic recurring orders if you do not notice.

  • Add-on items buried

    Some items are only purchasable by adding them to a qualifying order — this is shown in small print and can inflate cart totals unexpectedly.

  • Prime trial auto-converts

    Free trials convert to paid memberships without a prominent warning email close to the trial end date.
